NihaoMap Support

Shanghai today. NihaoMap publishes a place once its practical details hold up, so coverage grows city by city instead of by bulk import. A new city is announced here and in the app when it is ready.

Almost everything: browse Shanghai by category or curated list, search for a place by name or address, open guides, and save places. Only “near me” searches need your position. The map simply stays on its default area, and you can grant access later in your device settings — NihaoMap asks only while you are using the app.

Open the place in the app. Places with a full guide have a Report an issue action; say what is wrong — closed, moved, wrong hours, wrong entrance — and the report is used to re-verify the place. If you do not see that action, or the problem is with the app itself, use Send feedback and mention the place name.

The interface is in English and written for visitors rather than translated from Chinese. Where Chinese is what you actually need in the street — the place name, the address, a short request — NihaoMap shows it in Chinese as well.

Open a place and choose Show in Chinese. You get the Chinese name and address, or a driver drop-off point where we have one, plus a short Chinese request you can show, a button to copy it, and the option to hand the route to your navigation app. It is built for the moment you need to be understood, not for reading long text.

Places you saved, and the details you have already opened, stay readable without a connection. The base map and content updates need a network, and NihaoMap is not an offline map or offline navigation product: routes are handed to your navigation app.

There is no account, so there is nothing to delete on our side. Saved places and preferences live only on your device and are removed when you delete the app. If you send feedback, we store the message, the category, the related place (if any), and your app version and operating system name and version — with no account or contact identifier, which also means we usually cannot tell which record is yours. If you can describe the message and roughly when you sent it, write to privacy@nihaomap.com and we will try to find and remove it. Search and map requests are described in the privacy policy.

Open Settings → About in the app: it shows the version and build number. The same version number appears on the NihaoMap listing in the App Store or Google Play. Mentioning it helps a lot if you write to us about a problem.
